Over 130K vehicles recalled by Mitsubishi for two defects
Newer models of Mitsubishi Outlander and Lancer manufactured from 2009 to 2011 are being recalled by the car company after reports about two issues that may compromise visibility on the road, a report by Nasdaq stated on May 9.
At least 130,000 vehicles are affected by the recall, 76,958 units of which are being recalled due to a defective blower motor that may cause the windshield defroster to fail. Another 53,396 vehicles are being recalled due to windshield wipers, tail lights and head lights that may not work because of a defective electric control unit.
The company promised to notify the customers about the recall schedule. Mitsubishi plans to replace all the defective components with new ones free of charge.
